News for the Last Week of the Fall Semester
Hi everyone! Please accept my apologies for being such a slacker for the last few weeks or so. I’m back and bringing you the lastest DSES news.
The last day of the semester is Thursday, December 22. Even though only two days are left this week, the school is packed with activity.
Wednesday, Dec. 21, 8:30 am – 4th and 5th Grade Spelling Bee. Come and cheer on our future spelling champions!
December 22 – Our children will attend holiday concerts in the morning and class holiday parties in the afternoon. Please contact your child’s teacher to see how you can help. My son has already requested that I bring latkes and dreidels to his class.
December 23 – No School.
Even though the students will be out of school until January 5, please remember to clip those box tops during the vacation. The box top program is an easy fundraiser for the school.
Also, on those cold winter nights when nothing but a bowl of chili will do, remember to make a little extra and freeze it in a gallon size Ziploc bag. We will host a PTA Chili Luncheon for the teachers on January 13, and your chili contributions will be greatly appreciated.
The PTA hopes you have a wonderful Winter Vacation, a Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
